The SC system is the most comprehensive monolingual, bilingual and multilingual lexicography system for LMUs. It natively manages the internal multidialectal variability: it allows – unique of its kind – to record every shade of variation within a macro-language, while maintaining a basic unity.
All non-standardised minority and regional languages have to deal with the problem of the multiplicity of local variants that coexist with a common roof form.
The SC system has been specially designed to handle this complexity.
